Movement propels us forward, literally and figuratively. It feels good, releasing mood-boosting chemicals that promote feelings of happiness and well-being. It can encourage creative, deeper ways of thinking, helping us to get unstuck. It can also help to increase mindfulness and make us more aware of the mind-body connection. For some people, movement can help with relaxation, making it easier to open up and share. Spending time in nature also has well-known benefits, including improved cognition, and improved mental health. In this unique offering we’ll walk, at a pace that you’re comfortable with, in an outdoor setting as we talk about what’s important to you just as we would in a traditional setting. Walk and Talk Therapy combines the benefits of traditional therapy with the healing powers of nature and movement.

Walk and talk therapy is appropriate for people of most fitness levels. Options for location are in Lake Merritt and Lake Temescal (Oakland). Other locations may be possible.
